RIA of the Inspection System in Jordan (IFC)
In Spring 2011, Cesar Cordova will review Jordan's 15 inspectorates, and, using best international practices to streamline inspections and reduce overlap and duplication of inspections, we will identify options for reform for Jordan. We will use RIA to evaluate and compare the benefits and costs of each reform option.
Systemic Regulatory Reform in Armenia (OSCE)
in Feb 2011, Scott Jacobs was asked to review the regulatory environment in Armenia and to suggest a program of systemic reform to improve national competitiveness by updating its regulatory policies and policy instruments to stimulate market-driven growth.
Syria Business Environment Simplification Programme (BESP)
Jacobs and Associates is partnered with Eurecna on BESP which will contribute to the Syrian economic reform program through the improvement and simplification of the business environment to converge with European good practices. 2009-2011
New Approaches in Telecommunication Policy (NATP)
In a consortium with Regulaid, we will work to facilitate a harmonized and investment friendly environment in the electronic communications sector in the Mediterranean partner countries. 2010-2013.

Regulatory Impact Analysis of the Inspection System in Jordan

The object of this new project is to identify best international inspection models/practices related to streamlining inspection functions and reducing the burden on the private sector resulting from overlap and duplication in inspection functions within the 15 inspectorates. Selection of the best model for the Jordanian context would be determined through the application of Regulatory Impact Analysis including cost-benefit analysis of each policy option.

Jacobs and Associates supports Bosnia Republic in publishing online registry of formalities.
The Republic of Srpska has published its Registry of Approvals and Inspection Procedures for public use here. Cesar Cordova assisted the Republic in designing and managing this tool to improve government transparency and business friendliness. The gullotine reduced direct regulatory costs for businesses by US$ 2 million/year and US$ 13 million/year in indirect costs.
